Timber's Tub-thumpers
Many Americans are familiar with the term Bible-thumping, but not many have heard of Tub-Thumpers. The phrase originally referred to a person who used old tubs to stand and bang on to get the attention of people passing by to share something they felt was important.
And while a few of us at Timbers have old tubs you could bang on, we'd rather our supporters stand up and tell others the mission of our co-op, and be there when we need someone to bang on the tub to get others attention. So as a Tub-Thumper what could my role be? -Serve on Timbers Prayer Team for kids & staff -Share and teach students about a passion of yours -Provide academic support to students -Mentor older junior and high school students -Help fundraise at events throughout the year -Help provide internships at various workplaces -Bring Reese's Peanut Butter cups, and or peanut M&M's to staff (this is one of the more crucial roles) And if this isn't enough and you still need a tub, let us know, we may know a guy! |
